​October will be a month filled with crisp autumn air, colorful leaves, festive celebrations, and hands‑on learning across all classrooms at Vision Montessori of Herndon. Each level will explore fall themes in developmentally meaningful ways while building academic, social, and creative skills.

​Classroom Highlights

Kindergarten: Kindergarteners will experience a dynamic blend of academic learning and seasonal exploration. Kindergarteners will strengthen academic confidence while enjoying the excitement and beauty of fall. Their October curriculum will include:

• Language: Phonetic sounds, blending, ending sounds, comprehension, and writing

• Math: Numbers, addition, subtraction, and word problems at each child’s pace

• Geography: Countries and continents

• Science: Hands‑on activities and experiments

Primary:  Primary students will dive into rich seasonal learning that blends nature study, cultural lessons, and hands‑on exploration. They will begin by discovering acorns and how they help trees grow, followed by a fun study of squirrels and their habits.As the month continues, children will:

• Learn about the significance of Columbus Day

• Explore pumpkins, harvest traditions, and autumn changes

• Participate in creative art projects, songs, and seasonal stories

The month will end with festive Halloween activities that encourage imagination, collaboration, and joyful celebration. October will be filled with creativity, curiosity, and hands‑on learning.

Toddlers: Our toddlers will embark on a joyful journey through the wonders of autumn. They will begin the month by learning about acorns and how they help trees grow, followed by an exciting study of chipmunks and their habitats.Throughout October, toddlers will:

• Review letters e, f, g with phonetic sounds

• Recognize numbers 7, 8, 9

• Explore land and water, continents, weather, animals, maps, and globes

• Participate in hands‑on science activities and experiments

Pumpkin exploration, harvest‑themed projects, and festive Halloween art and songs will bring creativity and seasonal excitement to the classroom. The month will conclude with cheerful Halloween celebrations designed just for toddlers.​
