As we begin the new year, Vision Montessori in Herndon, VA will welcome children back with warmth, excitement, and a renewed focus on joyful learning. January will be a month of fresh routines, seasonal exploration, and meaningful growth across all classrooms. Teachers will prepare engaging environments that will inspire curiosity, independence, and kindness as children settle into the winter season. Our children will learn about Martin Luther King Jr. through age‑appropriate stories about kindness and friendship.

​Classroom Highlights

• Toddlers:  Our toddlers will begin the year with gentle, hands‑on experiences that will support their development and spark wonder. Practice phonetic sounds for the letters d, e, and f, and review numbers 1–3 through counting games. Explore winter animals, polar bears, and snow and ice through sensory play and simple science experiments. Geography lessons will introduce toddlers to winter landscapes around the world.

• Primary: Primary students will dive into winter‑themed lessons that will encourage creativity, collaboration, and independent thinking, exploring weekly themes including New Beginnings, Arctic Animals, Snow and Ice, Martin Luther King Jr., and Cozy Winter Fun. Children will participate in winter crafts, storytelling, and discussions that will nurture empathy and curiosity.

• Kindergarten: Our Pre‑K and Kindergarten learners will build academic foundations while exploring seasonal topics through hands‑on learning. Language lessons will include phonetic sounds, blending, ending sounds, comprehension, and writing. Math work will focus on addition, subtraction, and word problems, tailored to each child’s pace. Geography studies will introduce countries and continents, while science experiments will explore winter weather, ice, and snowflakes.
